Treasurer o May report - 10 months YTD income is $45,345. Expenses are $36,487. - Summer Camp is the major income/expense item remaining for the year. o 2003-2004 Budget - Next year's budget will be presented to the Troop Committee for approval at the August meeting. - An estimate of costs for Scouts (dues, campout fees, etc.) will be prepared for parents to help them budget. A schedule for fundraisers will be prepared to allow Scouts to take maximum advantage. 3. PLC - Phillip Pool o The PLC's 2003-2004 campout proposal, with *tentative* dates: - Sep 12-14 - Water Skiing, Cypress Springs (Fox) - Oct 17-19 - Mountain Biking, site unknown (Shark) - Nov 14-16 - Marksmanship, Herrin's Ranch (Pyro) - Dec 27-31 - Winter Camp, camp unknown - Jan 16-19 - Military, USS Lexington (Moose) - Feb 13-15 - Lashings, Colbaugh Ranch (Pedro) - Mar 19 - Lock-in, Summit Climbing Gym (Badger) - Apr ?? - Camporee - May 7-9 - Canoeing/tubing, site unknown (Badger) - The Troop Committee approved the PLC proposal, with conditions. The October campout should include some family activities, to make up for not scheduling a formal Family Camp. The dates for all campouts are tentative at this time. The date for Camporee is unknown. 4. Roundtable o No meeting was held in June. 5. Campouts - Dennis McCarthy o Jul 13-19 - Summer Camp - 51 Scouts and 7 adults are signed up. A great turnout. o Philmont - 24 Scouts and adults will go on two treks June 20 - July 3. o Sea Base - No activity this summer. o Northern Tier - No activity this summer. 6. Meetings - Dave Knust o 2003-2004 calendar planning - Dave Knust presented the proposed calendar for 2003-2004. The Troop Committee approved it. Dave will post it to the troop Web site. Some dates are still tentative and are subject to change as other dates are finalized (e.g., date of Camporee). 7. Leadership - Rick Montgomery o 2003-2004 troop leadership planning - Patrol leaders for 2003-2004 Badger: John Morgan (PL), Alan Aragon (APL) Fox: Josh Brown (PL), Austin Hood (APL) Moose: Dean Gould (PL), Austin Simmons (APL) Pedro: Alex Lisot (PL), Mark Leners (APL) Pyro: Nathan Goundry (PL), Jack Benavides (APL) Shark: Evan Bausch (PL), Cameron Fuentes (APL) - Other troop leadership positions are in process of being finalized by Rick and the Senior Patrol Leader. 8. Advancement - Bonnie Branch o TFC physical fitness baseline test - Dan Lassiter - What: Rank advancement requirements for new Scouts - When: June 14, 10:00 AM - Where: Apollo JHS track o Swimming - Charlie Hood, Brian Moore - What: Swimming Merit Badge and swimming requirements for rank advancement for new Scouts - When: June 21 and 28, 9:00 AM until noon - Where: RBFC pool o Eagles - Pat Kelly - Jordan Hoff and Steven Schob have completed their projects. - Pat is working with 10 Life Scouts. Three have 18th birthdays before the end of the year. - There are 14 Life Scouts who have not begun planning their project. 9. Troop Committee - Mark Steger o 2003-2004 adult leadership planning - Mark is collecting volunteers for adult leader positions in 2003-2004. If you haven't replied to his email yet, please do so. o Change in bylaws - Last meeting, a proposal was made to change the regular night for Troop Committee meetings to the third Thursday of the month (from the third Wednesday currently). The Troop Committee approved this change. o Certifications - The troop will begin maintaining a database of adult certifications (Youth Protection, Safe Swim, Safety Afloat, CPR, etc.). Dig out your cards and be ready when a survey for information is done later this summer. o Web site - The troop Web site is moving.
