These are minutes from the troop committee meeting on
Thursday, June 23rd at 7:00PM at RBF.

Participants:
    Gale Marvin, Scott McCray, Dennis McCarthy, Charles Rachuig,
    Mark Steger, John Benavides, Craig Christensen, Hunter Christensen,
    Kathy Dumanski


1. Next year's calendar

    We reviewed and assigned ownership to proposed campouts as
    defined by the PLC.  Hunter Christensen presented the campouts
    as shown below:


     Month - Activity - Planning patrol

     Sep  - Canoeing, Camp James Ray - Pyro patrol
        Action: Dennis to get a date (Sept. 16-18 is a good weekend)

     Oct - Climbing lock-in / Fly fishing - Shark patrol (Leff)
        Action: Benavides Try to reserve for Oct 14th

     Nov 4-6 - Horseback riding, Cowboy church in Terrell - Fox patrol
        Action: Kathleen Davis owns this; one nighter - move to a
          state park for Saturday night.   Lake Tawakoni - State Park

     Dec 26-31 - Winter Camp, Council - Baloo patrol
        Action: Craig owns and will gather details

     Jan - Lexington - Badger patrol  (Kerr did this last.)
        Action: Target for Jan 13-16th, Steve Weaver owns this.

     Feb 24-26 - Family campout, Fort Parker - Baloo patrol

        Action: Benavides will try to change [conflicts with Chamber
           music festival] Try to move to Feb 17-19.

     Mar 17-19 - Camporee, Cherokee - Baloo
        Action: Randy Hood owns this

     Apr 21-23 - Marksmanship,  Mr. Marvin's place - Spartans
        Action: Gale Marvin owns

     May - Climbing tower campout - Pyro
        Action: Brian Moore is trying to reserve to reserve
          for May 12-14

     June ??? - Sea Base - Moore is coordinating

     June - Northern Tier - McCarthy is coordinating

     July - Camp Constantin
        Action: Benavides to look for opportunities to
           move time up from last week of summer camp.


  2. Budgets
 
     Reviewed May's report and approved except for a change
     to where Scout Show entries were shown.

     Reviewed proposed budget for next year.  Minor changes.

     There is a opportunity for scholarships to Sea Base from the BSA.
     The next year's budget also has money budgeted for scholarship
     opportunities.

     Action: Benavides make sure we get our tax back from family camp.

     Action: Kathy needs a list of scouts leaving to so we can
        clear up their scout accounts.

   3. New Troop Cap

     We reviewed the new proposed Troop cap design.

     The committee approved purchase of 50 hats to be sold at $12 each.

   4. Reviewed status for summer camping activities
     => Philmont - Leaving July 5th  - Benavides/McCarthy/Hood/Montgomery
     => Summer Camp - Leaving July 10th - Moore/Marvin/Christensen

     All planning was on track.

     Action: Brian to send Sea Base mail out -- payment due in August

   5. Advancement - Bonnie Branch
     Eagles - Pat Kelly

     Scott Bonds and Jason Brassfield have finished their Eagle rank.
     Casey Hodges and Jimmy are doing their write ups.
     Mitchell and Evan are preparing to work on projects

   6. Leadership - Rick Montgomery

      Nothing to report.

      Action: Scout leadership roster needs to be updated.

   7. Misc.

      Action: Benavides needs to update the Adult Leadership roster.
