Here are the minutes from our September 2005 Troop Committee Meeting

0.  The October campout was presented.

  Dates are Oct 14-16th, 2005
  The campout's theme is Fall camping.     Activities include camping, hiking, fire starting,         water relay, cobbler competition, Dutch oven cooking, Fishing
      There will be an award for the best skit presented at Saturday's
      campfire.  (PLC will review the plan on Monday Sept 19th).
  Going to Camp Meisenbach (using Ram Bluff camp site) -- Near Athens, TX.
  Cost will be $16.00 per scout.


1. Financial - Jeanie Lawson (Treasurer)
  Jeanie Lawson presented the Financial Summary for August, 2005
  Also, she passed out Scout Account balances.
  The committee voted to accept the results presented.
  Campout reimbursement forms should be turned
  in as soon as possible after the campout.

2. Roundtable report - Craig Christensen
  Craig Christensen reported on information from the Monthly
  North Trail district round table
      Oak Leaf training = Oct 1-2, 2005 At Camp James Ray.

  Adult leader training = Start Sept 28th,     [John will send out email with link to web page -- northtrail.org]

  North Trail district dinner will be on January 22, 2006.
  $15 per meal (Six people per table).
  John Benavides is collecting nominations for YES awards.

  The district is sponsoring a trip to Peru for next summer
  Spots still available for scouts and adults

3. Meetings - Bob Centola

  Next Court of Honor is Oct 24th.
  We will have a meeting on Oct 10th.

  No update

5. New Scouts - Gale Marvin
  Gail reported that three more scouts are near finishing tenderfoot.
  Lots of scoutmaster conferences at this weekend's campout.

     Usually have Court of Honor at campout.

     (Formerly known as Mitchell's campout.)

     Will be at Wisdom.
     May have to camp at Cedar Hill state park.

     Looking for a theme.

     Still have openings for youth and adults (on our two boats)

 June ??? - Northern Tier - McCarthy is coordinating

 July 9-15 - Camp Constantin or not
     Hunter to look into other opportunities.

     Web lottery is coming in Oct/Nov
     Rich Montgomery is coordinating.

7. Recruiting - Brian Moore
  Brian reports that a Webelos-2 den from MST wants our
  scouts to coordinate an Arrow Light ceremony on Nov 5th.

  Brian reported we have the following den chiefs
          Laurence Eo - Big Springs
          Ben Weaver - Dartmouth
          Mark Leners - Yale
          Tommy Macalik - ???

  First Webelos meeting visit is Oct 3rd.

  Yale, Dartmouth, and MST have webelos-2 dens this year.  Big Springs does not.
