Robert Centola reviewed the preliminary Troop calendar. It is posted on the web at the troop web site (t81.freewebpage.org). Thanks to Winston Duncan, Jack Benavides, and Mr. Centola for working on it on July 30th. => First meeting is August 14th - Pool party, 6-8PM (Hot dogs served) We will also be collecting annual dues ($75) and taking updates to phone roster information (Directly into the troops' data base via a lap top.) => The only campout not assigned a date is the February campout (Family campout overnighter). The initial plans are presented to the PLC on the date noted with "PLC:" 2. The plans are presented to the Troop Committee on the date noted with "TC:" 3. At least three weeks before the activity, the information is presented to the Troop (date noted with "TR:") 2. 25th Anniversary Dinner -- report by Janet Centola & Josie Olivarez Here are the plans reported: RBF has been secured for Oct 8th. There will be a Cake and main course provided by Troop. Patrols will bring side dishes. Looking at inviting dignitaries. Good opportunity to acknowledge how the Troop has grown and been a vibrant part of the community of the last 25 years: # of eagle scouts and Projects # of Baden Powell we've won Camporee accomplishments -- 1st place Troop/1st place patrol # of service hours Time to get uniforms ready for the anniversary dinner. A suggestion to have a uniform contest. ** Uniform closet is pretty empty -- suggestion to donate old uniforms to troop closet (donations should be brought to a troop meeting). 3. SPL report -- Jack reported that there was an SPL meeting on July 20th. Items discussed: * Review of summer camp results -- good campout. We 1st place in sailing reggada race, 3rd place in raft race, and completed Baden Powell award. ** Need to elect new patrol quarter masters and Assistant patrol leaders. 4. Leadership - Rick Montgomery Current leadership chart was discussed -- Robert McCarthy will be serving as Scribe. => Chris Rickett is patrol leader for Spartans => Charles McCray is patrol leader for Badgers *** Still a number of important troop level leadership positions open -- older scouts without leadership positions are encouraged to talk to Jack or Mr. Montgomery ASAP. 5. New Scouts - Gale Marvin -- o Recruiting - Charlie Rachuig - organizing contact with Packs in area. (Pack's being contact include these: Dartmouth Elem. (871), Yale Elem. (516), Big Springs Elem.(576) Mark Twain Elem, Terrace Elem., Spring Ridge, Richardson Home school - Fellowship Bible church) Another open item is if and when to have Mitchell's campout. Austin owns this item. There was a suggestion to inquire about helping work at Webelos' woods - to get more recruiting exposure. 6. Advancement - Bonnie Branch o Lewis Eo (tenderfoot) and David Aragon (tenderfoot) need BOR's o Eagles - Pat Kelly * Philip Pool is trying to work his Eagle Project soon.
