Committee Meeting Minutes
April 7, 2008 RBF Church

Attendees: Jim McKnight, Tim Meeks, Rick Montgomery, Pat Kelly, Gale
  Marvin, Jeanie Lawson, Miko Sprunck, Jim Hopkins, Laura Jones

1) Summer Camp Update ~ Jim McKnight
  
  Each boy will need proof of individual health insurance, and troop will need proof of insurance from Circle 10 along with a few claim forms ~ Laura will check with council.
  Deadline for final camp payment is moved to Monday, May 5th.
  All MB classes need to be registered by April 28th.
  No electronics will be allowed…will be stressed at parent meeting before camp.
  Each person attending camp will need a cot.
  Pre-camp parent meeting will be in June. Date TBD.
  
2) Scout  Show ~ Jim McKnight
  Jim will register for a booth for the May 10th show asking for an outside booth to build a rope bridge. 
  We will need 5 to 6 older scouts with good knowledge of knots. 
  Adults willing to assist: Gale Marvin, Miko Sprunck, Jim Hopkins
  Jim will discuss the show with scouts and get them to commit to helping.
  
3) May campout ~ Canoeing ~ Pyro Patrol
  A request was made to change campout date due to conflicts of many of the adults, SAT test, and OA Ordeal on the weekend of May 2-4.
  The committee discussed and made a motion to move the campout date to April 25-27th. All specifics on the campout will be emailed out ASAP. 
  The campout will be presented to the scouts and registration will be taken during both the April 14th and April 21st meeting. (The Berkner band k ids will be missing the April 21st meeting due to their Corpus Christi trip.)
  Tim will forward the campout information to Laura, and it will then be forwarded to the troop.
  
4) Treasurer ~ Jeanie Lawson
  All Sea Base fees are paid in full…troop still collecting payments from scouts.
  Deposit made for summer camp.
  Committee made a motion and seconded accepting the treasurer’s report.
  
5) Meetings ~ Scott McCray
  Meetings for the remainder of the year are:
  4/14/08 ~ Regular meeting with MB classes
  4/21/08 ~ Regular meeting with pre-camp planning
  4/28/08 ~ Regular meeting with MB classes
  5/5/08 ~ Regular meeting with MB make up
  5/12/08 ~ Softball game/dinner ~ Crowley Park 6:30
  5/19/08 ~ Court of Honor ~ RBF sanctuary 7pm
  
6) Leadership ~ Rick Montgomery
  Forms for next year’s leadership will be handed out at the 4/14/08 meeting.
  All scouts eligible for elected positions need to talk to Mr. Montgomery.
  SPL elections will be May 5th.
  
7) Eagles ~ Pat Kelly
  Brent Green’s BOR is Wed., April 9.
  
8) Recruiting ~ Miko Sprunck
  We have four new scouts coming. Two have registered to date.
  Miko will work up a budget for recruiting for 2009 and present it to the committee.
  
9) Roundtable ~ Gale Marvin
  Twilight Camp: Junior Leader Staff/Helpers. Staff must be 14 years old but helpers may be younger. Scouts will earn service hours for their time. Camp dates are June 16-20, 2008. Information available online at www.northtrail-data.org/data/twilight_jr_leader.php

10) PLC update ~ Winston Duncan
  Not present
  
11) Camping ~ Tim Meeks
  Tim would like to budget some money for painting parts of the trailer and the possible addition of the name of our chartering organization on the rear of the trailer.
  May campout changed to 4/25-27
